Barcelona Taxi Guidance for Cruise Passengers
How Barcelona's black-and-yellow taxis really work on embarkation and port days.
Barcelona's official black-and-yellow taxis are metered, plentiful and a practical way to reach the cruise port — but there are a few things cruise passengers should know about terminal access, fixed airport fares and port surcharges before relying on them.
Licensed taxis use a meter with published rates, plus set surcharges for the airport, the port and luggage. From the airport there's a fixed minimum fare to the city; to the cruise terminals expect a metered fare plus the port supplement. Only official taxis at marked ranks should be used.
Importantly, taxis can drive right up to the terminals on the Adossat (Moll) quay, so unlike the port's own shuttle you're taken to your ship rather than to the Columbus Monument. This makes a taxi a strong option if you have luggage and there are just a few of you.
On disembarkation morning, taxi ranks at the terminals can get busy as multiple ships empty at once. If you have a fixed flight, consider pre-booking a private transfer instead of relying on the rank.
